Styles with Accessories

In this tutorial, I show you styles with some of my favorite accessories! I am starting with a four-day-old wash-n-go, and I am always looking for ways to style my hair in the last days leading up to washday. And, I just love versatility and variety, and accessories provide me lots of styling freedom.

SLAP (Satin Lined Caps) by Grace Eleyae

This cap has a stylish, knit exterior and a plush satin lining that allows you to protect your style and edges without the fear of damage that you can experience with other fashion hats. This cap is great for when your hair is straight, and you are wrapping at night, you can sleep knowing your hair is protected and that you’ll get more days of sleek, straight hair. And for those of you who twist and braid your hair to set it, you can cover your hair and still be stylish while running errands!

We all know the benefits of satin; frizz-free hair, less breakage, fewer tangles and moisture retention, and the SLAP gives all of that in a stylish way. These satin lined caps come in lots of colors and they are machine washable.

Headbands

Embellished headbands are great for adding flare to your do! They are available from several online retailers.

Silk Scarves

Silk scarves aren’t just great for sleeping in, they make amazing accessories because you can make them into so many things! This size of scarf (5 ft long, 10 inches wide) is usually found in accessory sections of department stores like a Macy’s or even Target. You can also find them online on sites like Amazon, or head to your local craft store and buy some fabric.

Metallic Pins by H&M

Metallic pins are an awesome way to add no fuss flare to a style. I picked these gold pins up at H&M for just under $3.

Metal Claws by Banana Republic

Metal claws are cool little things that allow you to create dynamic shapes with little effort. These clips from Banana Republic are especially nice because they have a nice, strong grip that allows me to use them for a variety of styles.

With just a few accessories, I am able to create all kinds of styles that I can change up daily. If you find yourself bored with your day-to-day look, try adding accessories to your do for more versatility without the commitment of a long-term style!
