Mo Wash-N-Go

NOTE: Please view updated video here.

The wash-n-go is my favorite go-to style. It took me several product combinations and experimentation with different drying methods, but I finally came up with a way to wash-n-go that gives me beautiful results every time!

Products and Tools:

Total Time:

Total time for this style is around two and a half hours depending on how fast your hair dries. I’ll be able to get about three or four days of wear out of this before I have to start bunning or pinning my hair into different styles.

Keep and Care:

To preserve the definition and volume of my wash-n-go, I sleep and workout in the pineapple. The next morning, I remove the ponytail holder, fluff and style. I may add a bit of jojoba oil to my ends to seal and shine. After a workout, I use my Ion dryer with diffuser to dry my roots and keep my style in tact.

  1. I absolutely love your hair!! I follow you on Instagram (mrsburnelljr)and I adore all of your styles! I am transitioning and can hardly wait for my hair to be done with this relaxed phase. Thank you for this website!!

  2. you are going to give curly nikki a run for her money!!! That was a compliment :))))

i’ve never been more motivated to do a wash n go!! you make it look so easy.

  3. I love it! Your hair looks gorgeous!!! 🙂 I do the same with my hair when I style it in a Wash-n-Go. I will wear it out for about 5 – 6 days and then either bun it, do an elongated ponytail or a fauxhawk. 🙂

  4. Mo I am in love with your hair and so glad i found your channel on youtube. I just had my first child and i am ready to continue my natural hair journey. I love this wash and go. Can you do a wash and go on more types of hair because i am still trying to figure out exactly what hair type i have.

  5. Hi Mo,
I have relax hair about 22 inches or so will this style work in relax hair? I really love big volume but not sure if it will work and I don’t want to go and purchase a ionic blow dry etc if it will not work?

    • I’m not sure how well a wash-n-go will work on relax hair as it depends on your natural curl pattern to create the look.

  6. Good Evening, I have been transitioning for 11 months. Will a wash and go work on transitioning hair. My hair type is very wavy

  7. Does the wash-n-go work on all types of hair? I have been natural for almost four years, but my hair has stayed relatively the same length (probably due to lack of rendition). I would like to find a go to style that is simple, but good for my natural 4c hair.

  8. Hi Mo! First off I just wanted to say I love the video. I was asking..Can I towel dry instead of blow dry? I want my hair to turn out like yours but I don’t have a blow dryer period and I don’t have enough money to get one.
